NEW ORLEANS -- Authorities are looking for a man who started a fire inside an Algiers Raising Cane's Friday evening, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.

Shortly before 10 p.m., an employee said that a man in a hooded sweatshirt carrying a plastic jug with a clear liquid inside walked into the restaurant in the 4000 block of Behrman Highway. He walked to the center booth in the dining area, dumped the liquid and used a lighter to set the fire, according to the NOFD.

No customers were inside the restaurant at the time the fire started, but six employees were working.

Fire officials said that the man ran from the restaurant after starting the fire.  The six employees were able to escape the fire.

The fire was brought under control around 10:45 p.m.

The fire is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
