NEW ORLEANS -- Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with a triple shooting that left two women dead in March.
Cody Williams was booked with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Williams was arrested Wednesday afternoon by U.S. marshals in the 1600 block of South Saratoga Street. He was wanted in connection with a triple shooting that left 49-year-old Sandy George and 19-year-old Rinalda Variste dead and a 18-year-old male injured in March.
On March 13, officers responded to a shooting around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Foucher and South Saratoga streets, police said. When police arrived on the scene, officers found Variste lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
George was found by police inside a house. She had been shot in the body. She died several days after the shooting.
