NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are investigating three separate shootings that happened within an hour of one another, leaving one person dead, according to NOPD spokesman Officer Garry Flot.

The fatal shooting happened in the Bayou St. John neighborhood in the 500 block of N. Gayoso around 3:20 p.m.

Flot said a man was shot in the head at that location. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The first shooting happened just before 3 p.m. in the 7100 block of Deanne Street in New Orleans East.

Flot said a man was shot in the neck, at that location. His condition is currently unknown, but he has been transported to the hospital.

The second shooting happened on a busy Mid-City street, also just before 3 p.m., in the 4300 block of South Carrollton.

A man was reportedly shot in the chest, Flot said. His condition is also unknown.

Police haven't announced any suspects or motives in any of these shootings.
