NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have identified a second suspect wanted for a drive-by shooting that left an elderly woman and a man injured.

18-year-old Deloyd Jones is wanted on five separate charges: attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated criminal damage, illegal use of a weapon and illegal carrying of a weapon.

Police have already arrested a 16-year-old boy in the incident and booked him on identical charges. Because he is a minor, the NOPD is not releasing his name.

According to NOPD spokesman Officer Garry Flot, police responding to a shooting on Feb. 24 found a man and a 76-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man is currently in the hospital in stable condition, while the woman is out after being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Flot said detectives believe Jones and the 16-year-old first shot at a home that was occupied with children and an adult while driving a car in the 1300 block of Gallier Street. No one was injured there.

The driver then went on to the next block, where he fired at the male victim who is now in the hospital, Flot said. One of the bullets went through the wall of a home and struck the 76-year-old woman.

If you know of the whereabouts of Jones, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
