NEW ORLEANS – An arrest warrant has been issued for a New Orleans police officer on an accusation of rape.

Officer Henry Hollins has been suspended without pay pending an investigation, according to a spokeswoman for the NOPD. A woman is accusing Hollins of raping her after taking her into custody in June.

Officer Hollins has previously faced allegations of wrongdoing. He was reassigned within the NOPD in June after being accused of battery on his girlfriend.

The warrant alleging rape is considered a separate case, though the details of the allegation were not released.

Hollins was expected to turn himself in to police sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.
