SLAUGHTER, La. - State police released a 21-page report detailing the specifics of a drunk driving accident that killed seven people in Slaughter.
The report included interviews with the man accused of driving drunk.
Brett Gerald admitted he had several beers during the afternoon of May 30 and more later that night. He said he felt "slurry" at the time of the accident, the troopers' report said.
The accident was Gerald's second DWI.
Relatives of the victims killed in the crash were nearly speechless after reading the details.
"It makes me very upset to see this guy has been through the system several times from reports of running a cop, police officer and people off of the road and nothing has detoured this man from this," said John Gaines Jr., a relative of a victim.
The Gaines family hired an attorney to look over the facts in the case.
Gerald's attorney said he had not seen the crash report.
A trial has been set for December 10.
