NEW ORLEANS - Police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted for firing into a crowd and injuring a student near a bus stop near Esplanade and Broad Street on February 20.
The suspect is described as an African-American man, 19 years of age and approximately 6'2 inches tall and weighing about 165-170 pounds. He was also said to have a slim build and dark skin and was wearing a beige-colored baseball cap turned backwards, a green checkerboard flannel button jacket, black Dickie-style pants and tennis shoes. He was armed with a gun.
Police said he was seen firing a weapon into the crowd. Afterward he was running on Esplanade riverbound toward the Bethany Home.
The student who was shot suffered non life-threatening injuries.
