River Ridge man booked with vehicular homicide after woman dies

RIVER RIDGE, La. –  A Jefferson Parish man was arrested and booked for vehicular homicide after he hit a woman who walking along a road in River Ridge, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Larry Dyess.

After the incident on Thursday afternoon, David Wahl, 60, of River Ridge, was initially booked for DUI, reckless operation and negligent injury, police said. But he was rebooked with vehicular homicide after Cynthia Watson, 56, of River Ridge, died from injuries at University Hospital Friday evening.

According to police, Wahl hit Watson in the 1100 block of Moss Lane as she was walking on the shoulder of the road.
