ST. JOHN, La. -- St. John Parish Councilman Ranney Wilson is facing criminal charges after allegedly firing multiple shots at his son’s vehicle over the weekend, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Mike Tregre say Wilson, 61, got into an argument Saturday afternoon with his 26-year-old son at his home in the 800 block of Garyville Northern.

After the son left the home, Wilson allegedly followed him with a handgun and continued the argument outside. Tregre said Wilson then fired the gun several times into the son’s parked and unoccupied truck, disabling it.

Wilson faces charges of illegal use of a firearm and aggravated criminal damage to property. He’s out on a $22,500 bond.
