ST. JOHN, La. -- One of the suspects in the shooting of four St. John Parish deputies has been formally booked into the parish jail.
Brian Lyn Smith was discharged from the hospital Monday and booked into the St. John the Baptist Parish Jail.
Smith, 24, faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer.
One other suspect, Kyle David Joekel, remains hospitalized. He's to be released at an undetermined time.
