ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. - A state lawmaker who played a role in overhauling the state's education system is facing a challenge for his office.
Two St. Bernard Parish teachers have filed a recall petition against state Representative Ray Garofalo of Meraux.
He's the fourth lawmaker to be targeted for his role in supporting Gov. Bobby Jindal's changes involving school vouchers and teacher tenure.
In order to prompt a recall election, 9,000 signatures are needed.
