BATON ROUGE, La. - Four bills that were part of Gov. Bobby Jindal's legislative package crack down on DWIs, specifically targeting repeat offenders, parole, drug use and penalties.
Under the new laws, police can use multiple impairment tests, because breathalyzers can't detect drugs.
Another law helps prosecutors go after offenders who have committed vehicular homicide and have illegal or unprescribed drugs in their system.
Repeat offenders will have a hard time getting their driving privileges back.
