JEFFERSON PARISH, La. - Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at a movie production warehouse in Jefferson Parish on Friday morning.

The call to the warehouse located in the 300 block of Jefferson Highway went out just before 6 a.m. The fire was under control by 6:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from several points of the long, interconnected warehouse.

"We isolated between point A and point B that it was located in a certain area and we started opening up each warehouse. But, then we found a blind warehouse, more or less, where there's only one door going into one section, and that's where it turned out that the fire was," according to Eldridge Umbach of the Jefferson Parish Fire Department.

The sprinklers kept the fire contained until firefighters arrived, Umbach said.

Once firefighters located where the water was coming from, they discovered a very small fire, Umbach said.

No other warehouses were damaged, particularly the one next door, in which a working movie set is housed.

The fire is under investigation.
