This week is the unofficial kickoff of the political season across Louisiana.
That’s the topic of this week’s Commentary by Eyewitness News Political Analyst and Gambit columnist Clancy DuBos.
If you think you’ve had enough of politics already, you’re not gonna like the next two months. Labor Day typically kicks off the political season, and what a season this one is shaping up to be.
In addition to a no-holds-barred presidential race, Louisiana’s Senate race is one of the hottest in the country. Twenty-four candidates are on the ballot, and at least seven of them are given good chances of making the runoff. That includes former KKK leader and neo-Nazi David Duke.
Polls show the vast majority of Louisiana voters don’t like Duke at all. The harder question for many is, Who do voters like? That’s what the next two months will be all about.
