NEW ORLEANS -- De La Salle High School is closing early Wednesday due to a power outage affecting the Uptown area.
"Due to a power outage we are forced to end the school day at 11;30," said a statement on the school's social media. "Due to the power outage there is no lunch service or bus service. All students will be instructed to contact parents via cell phone. Parents, feel free to call or text students immediately. Student drivers, and those who usually ride with student drivers, as well as students that take public transit, will be permitted to leave campus. To pick up your student please enter the building through the front of the school into our lobby and text your student to come meet you. Students will not be dismissed into any other area of the school. We respectfully ask that all students be picked up by 1:30 to ensure the safety of our campus. Thank you."
The Entergy outage map reports an outage affecting more than 100 customers.
