NEW ORLEANS – The deadline for New Orleans East residents affected by an EF-3 tornado in February is quickly approaching.
Residents have until Wednesday before 7 p.m. to register for assistance.
The Disaster Recovery Center at the East New Orleans Public Library on Read Boulevard will remain in operation until Friday, when it will close permanently.
Survivors may register with FEMA by downloading the FEMA mobile app, going online at Disasterassistance.gov/ or calling the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 (10 a.m. - 7 p.m.). Survivors who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and who use a TTY may call 800-462-7585 to register. Those who use 711 or Video Relay Service or require accommodations while visiting a center may call 800-621-3362.
