NEW ORLEANS-- An inmate deputies said walked off while at the Municipal Court building turned himself in Wednesday.
Terrance Jacques, 25, surrendered at the Orleans Justice Center around noon.
Officials said Tuesday, a Municipal Court Deputy found an OPSO-issued jumpsuit and slippers Jacques was wearing in one of the second-floor hallways.
The deputy alerted supervisors who conducted a roll call, which was short by one.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.Jacques was rebooked on a simple escape charge. In addition to his municipal court attachments, Jacques had been held in the Orleans Justice Center on charges of illegal possession of stolen property and criminal trespassing.
