JEFFERSON PARISH, La. - The state's 5th Circuit Court F appeals has sided with the Jefferson Parish Teachers Union and ruled that the unpaid furlough day implemented by the school board in 2011 was a violation of state law.
The union sued the school board on June 7, shortly after the school board imposed the furlough day.
There's no word yet on when or if the teachers will be reimbursed for the post day.
