JEFFERSON PARISH, La. – After lying about being carjacked to deputies, a man admitted that he was stranded and hoping that he would be offered a ride back to his Mississippi home, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Travis Victor, 24, told deputies that three black males wearing masks robbed him at gunpoint and took his 2000 Mercury Marquis near Manhattan and the Westbank Expressway, according to the JPSO.
However, his story changed when he was transported to the Investigations Bureau.
He admitted that he lied about being carjacked and never actually had a car, according to deputies.
Victor, who said he was from Lumberton, had been stranded and was hoping to get a ride, investigators said.
He was booked in to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on one count of false reporting.
