NEW ORLEANS - On November 6, residents in Orleans, Jefferson and Plaquemines parishes will decide the fate of the tolls on the Crescent City Connection.

A Wednesday night meeting will be held in order to inform voters of the pros and cons.

The tolls are scheduled to end December 31, unless voters decide to renew them for the next 20 years.

The funds would go to bridge operations, maintenance, landscaping, grass cutting, bridge lighting, trash collection, police inspection and capital budgets.

Some residents suggest that there is no justification for keeping the tolls.

Others ask questions like, "Who would pay the $800,000 for bridge lighting, because the state can't pay for that?"

A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the West Jefferson Medical Center Auditorium
