JEFFERSON, La. - After several burglars targeted a Jefferson Parish neighborhood, deputies beefed up patrols in that area.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a rash of home burglaries on Monticello Avenue.

The first burglary took place on January 15.

In one instance, a home in the 700 block of Monticello was hit three different times on three different days.

The last home was burglarized on February 25.

The crimes appear to be happening during the day when no one is home.

There was no word on the items being stolen.
