METAIRIE, La. - Two lanes of eastbound Interstate-10 East coming in to New Orleans from Metairie were shut down due to a multi-vehicle accident just after 6 a.m. Thursday. Both lanes reopened by 7:30 a.m.
Minor injuries occurred in the accident that involved an 18-wheeler, according to state police.
Around 7:30 a.m., delays from the accident near Clearview Parkway had reached past Williams Boulevard.
Alternate routes include Airline Highway and Veterans Boulevard. Commuters needing to get on EB I-10 should wait to enter until Causeway.
Wreckers arrived on the scene around 7:15 a.m., and workers cleared the accident in 15 minutes.
Drivers can expect a 45 minute commute coming in from Metairie or Kenner.
