KENNER, La. - Kids checked out the new additions to the Science Center in Rivertown on Saturday, including a working WWL-TV weather center.
More than 400 people came out for the grand reopening, with the line stretching around the building.
Kids learned about how a green-screen works, and explored what goes into forecasting the weather.
It's all a part of a big push to bring more people to Rivertown.
The Science Center also has hands-on exhibits on insects and an active ant farm.
Many of the kids who came to the grand opening took home special goodie bags.
