JPSO investigating homicide at Metairie apartment complex

A man was shot and killed in a Metairie apartment complex Sunday morning.

According to JPSO, gunshots erupted on the second floor of an apartment complex  in the 2600 block of Houma Blvd. just before 5 a.m. on Oct. 23. 

Fourth District Officers responded and found an unidentified black male with a gunshot wound to his back lying face-down in an apartment's living room. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

It is not clear whether the victim lived in the apartment or not.

Police are investigating potential witnesses according to JPSO, but have not determined a suspect or motive yet.
