Fourth suspect arrested in Oaklawn Drive home invasion, shooting

Police say a father and son have been arrested and another son is being sought in connection with a home invasion and shooting in Metairie recently.

METAIRIE, La. – A fourth suspect was arrested in a home invasion and robbery in Metairie.

Deputies were also searching for a fourth suspect, known as “Phil,” who they said acted as a lookout during the attempted robbery.

Phillip Brenckle, 19, of Marrero was arrested on two outstanding warrants, according to the sheriff's office.

A third suspect turned himself into authorities Monday after being connected to a shooting and home invasion. Sheriff Newell Normand said 21-year-old Damon Garcia has been booked with numerous charges, including attempted first-degree murder.

Garcia’s father and brother were also arrested in connection with the crime, which officials said was an attempt to rob alleged drug dealers March 5.

During the burglary, the suspects shot a transgender woman who authorities said is not connected to the illegal activities allegedly taking place inside the home.
