Lafourche Parish officials invite residents to community meeting Wednesday

THIBODAUX, La. - Lafourche Parish Councilman Aaron Caillouet will hold a Community Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the West Thibodaux fire station, 200 Notre Dame St.

Parish President Charlotte Randolph said that among the topics of discussion are roads, drainage and individual concerns people might have in the district.

“The purpose of the meeting is to inform residents in District 3 of improvements scheduled for 2012,” Caillouet said.

Other important topics of discussion are updates on the Central Market construction and the status of the Burma Road Bridge project.

The Central Market, a $1-million project which will feature fresh produce and seafood from local vendors, is scheduled for completion in August 2012. The Burma Road Bridge construction is expected to begin within the next 30 days.

Joining President Randolph and Councilman Caillouet are Parish Administrator Crystal Chiasson; Public Works Director Kerry Babin; Parish Operations Officer Gary Washington; Field Office Supervisor Bobby Chiasson; Assistant Field Office Supervisor Aaron Frymoyer; Office of Emergency Preparedness Director Chris Boudreaux; and, Project Manager Terry Arabie.
