LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. -- State Police are investigating a four-vehicle accident in Lafourche Parish Tuesday morning, involving a school bus that had children on board.

Troopers say some children are being transported to the hospital with apparent minor injuries.

The accident happened earlier Tuesday morning on State Road 3235, according to State Police, as the school bus, on its way to South Lafourche High School, was stopped in the right lane with its flashers on and signs out.  Two cars were stopped in the left hand lane -- as per state law -- but another truck did not stop and ran into the stopped vehicles, and spun into the school bus.

State Police are on the scene and say the injured kids are being taken to area hospitals to be checked out.
