Film crew takes over Ponchatoula on Friday

PONCHATOULA, La. (AP) — Film crews will be in Ponchatoula on Friday filming scenes for "The Butler."

Tangipahoa Parish Tourism Commission spokeswoman Emily McKneely tells The Daily Star (http://bit.ly/N1ukVM ) that all of downtown Ponchatoula will be used in the shoot.

Local filming is expected to take only one day.

Scenes also are being shot in New Orleans, Houma and Thibodaux for the drama that has an all-star cast, including Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr., Jane Fonda, Nicole Kidman, Liam Neeson, John Cusack, Robin Williams, Alex Pettyfer and Minka Kelly.

McNeely said none of the big names is expected in Ponchatoula for Friday's filming.
