4 sought in northshore counterfeit ring

Four suspects are being sought in connection with a counterfeiting ring that the sheriff's office believes has been passing out fake currency at retailers in Tangipahoa Parish.

The sheriff's office said it has received several complaints.

Those wanted for passing counterfeit currency include: Tanner Hurst, 24, of Hammond; Robert Charles Blanda, 33, of Ponchatoula; Samuel Ray Quinn, 39, of Hammond and Donny Dorrell McKay, 28 of Hammond. 

If anyone comes into contact with what they believe to be counterfeit currency, it is important to immediately contact law enforcement and stay at the location where you receive the suspected counterfeit currency. If you have or know of the location of any of subjects or know the whereabouts of persons engaged in activities involving counterfeit money please call the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office Financial Crimes Unit, (985) 902-2031 Detective Travis Pitman or Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245.
