HAMMOND, La. - A business owner was found dead inside her Hammond gardening center on Wednesday, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
Around 5 p.m. deputies responded to Alvarez Nursery on Highway 51 to find Mary Alvarez, 71, suffering from a fatal injury.
Investigators are looking into the death, the TPSO said.
An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday morning to better determine the details surrounding the death.
