METAIRIE, La. - A dense fog advisory was in place until 9 a.m. for land areas and 10 a.m. for the lakes and gulf waters on Friday.
Visiibilites were down to a mile in some spots across southeast Louisiana and less than a mile in areas like McComb and Houma.
Around 9 a.m., visibility was at roughly 1,500 feet, about 1/3 of a mile, on the Causeway Bridge. At 4:30 a.m., the visibility was as low as 700 feet.
There was only one lane open on the northbound Causeway and speed was restricted to 45 M.P.H. WWLTV received reports that traffic was moving at 25 M.P.H. is some spots.
A convoy was in place on the southbound Causeway and commuters experienced delays throughout rush hour. Officials said the convoy traveled as slow as 35 M.P.H.
Around 9:15 a.m., the Causeway began operating normally.
Patches of fog will be visible on Friday night.
