COVINGTON, La. – Covington Police have arrested a man for stealing narcotics from a local veterinary office.

According to Covington Police Chief, Tim Lentz, officers received a burglary alarm at a local veterinary clinic and when they arrived, they saw a flashlight moving around inside of the building, and a window broken in the rear of the business.

Police saw Jared Schorleinside of the business with a flashlight in one hand and a pistol in the other.

Officers ordered Schorle to the ground, secured the weapon, and took him into custody without incident.

Schorle had several cuts on his hand from breaking the window, which were treated on the scene.

When police searched Schorle, they found several syringes and medicine from the veterinary clinic.

Schorle was arrested, charged with illegal carrying of weapons, simple burglary of a pharmacy, and possession of schedule II narcotics.
