A Slidell man detained in an African country has been released from prison pending the conclusion of his trial. Mark McCabe was taken into police custody in South Sudan last month on a kidnapping claim.
Mccabe, who has a heart condition, suffered a mild heart attack in jail earlier this week, and was awaiting his trial today in a clinic.
Mccabe's wife told Eyewitness News while the trial started today, it couldn't be completed and will resume next friday.
McCabe is free from the confines of the jail based on a lack of evidence and being guarded at the clinic.
