Mr. Move owner pleads guilty in federal court

NEW ORLEANS- The owner of a Metairie-moving company, which was the subject of an Eyewitness News series, has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

Dunwoodie McDuffie III, owner of Mr. Move, admitted to eight counts of conducting interstate household goods moves without the proper authority from the Department of Transportation.

McDuffie faces a maximum of one year in prison and a $100,000 fine for each count.

McDuffie, and one of two Mr. Move employees accused of holding a Mandeville woman's property hostage after inflating the moving cost, are already serving five years probation on a state extortion charge.
