Mr. Move owner sentenced to 6 months in federal prison

NEW ORLEANS- The owner of a Metairie moving company, which was the subject of an extortion investigation and a series of Eyewitness News reports, has been sentenced to six months in federal prison.

Mr. Move CEO Dunwoodie McDuffie III pleaded guilty to conducting interstate household goods moves without the proper authority in November.

The admission came months after he, and two employees, pleaded guilty in state court to extortion.

Then, McDuffie and the workers were accused of holding a Mandeville woman's property hostage after demanding a higher moving fee than originally quoted.
