Northshore man arrested after ramming car into ex's home, high-speed chase

MANDEVILLLE - The ex-husband of a Mandeville woman is facing several charges after deputies say he kicked in her front door and rammed his car into her home early Thursday.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at a Mandeville-area home.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, 48-year-old Randall Cartier of Madisonville showed up at the home, kicked in the door and then got into his vehicle, ramming the house and two cars that were outside.

Deputies said Cartier fled the area when he saw deputies approaching and eventually led officers on a high-speed chase through several neighborhoods. The chase ended when he failed to maneuver around a curve and the car flipped several times.

During the initial action at the home, deputies said the occupants of the home barricaded themselves in an interior room and called 911.

Cartier suffered minor injuries and was treated and released. He was booked on the following charges: Home Invasion, Aggravated Criminal Damage, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, Flight from an Officer and DWI, second offense.
