NEW ORLEANS - A 24-year-old construction worker was knocked unconscious after he fell into a 15 foot hole near the Industrial Canal on Thursday morning, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.
Around 10 a.m., the NOFD arrived at Florida Avenue and France Road to find the man at the bottom of the hole that was being dug for drainage pipes.
As the firefighters were using confined space rescue techniques, the man regained consciousness and complained of abdomen pain.
He was transferred to a hospital and the extent of his internal injuries are unknown, according to the NOFD.
