Tulane University, LSU, Loyola, UNO and Louisiana Tech University in Ruston are among the Louisiana schools that have made the list of best top colleges in the United States.
U.S. News and World Report has just come out with its list of best colleges in the United States, and Tulane was the highest ranked Louisiana school.
Tulane University ranked number 52, LSU ranked number 135, and Louisiana Tech in Ruston ranked number 190.
Tulane and Loyola ranked in the top 25 schools in the nation for service learning initatives, and Loyola was also ninth among southern regional universities. It also was named a best value school.
The University of New Orleans, for the third straight year, ranks among the universities whose students graduate with the lightest debt loads. UNO ranked second among national universities in percentage of graduates with debt and 15th in terms of average amount of debt.
Xavier of New Orleans was rated the 5th choice among historically black colleges. Dillard was 12th in the same category.
Princeton University gets the honor as being named the best college in the US, followed by Harvard, Yale, and Columbia.
