NEW ORLEANS, LA — Wednesday, the City of New Orleans issued an update on street openings following Super Bowl XLVII.

River-bound lanes of Poydras Street between South Claiborne Avenue and LaSalle Street will reopen to traffic at 7 pm today, as will Poydras exit 234B from I-10 East.

The Superdome exit from 1-10 eastbound, Dave Dixon Drive, Magnolia Avenue, West Stadium Drive, Howard Avenue and Sugar Bowl Drive near the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and New Orleans Arena will remain closed until Wednesday, February 13. However, the Superdome exit and streets will reopen for New Orleans Hornets games at the Arena and special events, including the Endymion Extravaganza at the Superdome on February 9.

Horse carriages that were temporarily relocated from the front of Jackson Square will return to their usual locations on Thursday.

The City’s Ground Transportation Bureau worked with horse carriage operators to relocate carriages from the front of Jackson Square from Monday through Wednesday as crews completed removal of broadcast equipment and sets used during Super Bowl coverage.
