NEW ORLEANS - Plans for a Costco big-box warehouse store in the Carollton area moved forward.
The City Planning Commission voted 6-2 on Tuesday to approve the plans with 15 provisions, like how large the store's parking lot can be and whether Costco was making the effort to make the walls of the building visually appealing.
The store would occupy the vacant site of the former Carrollton Shopping Center, across South Carrollton Avenue from Xavier University.
The final decision will be up to the New Orleans City Council in the upcoming weeks.
