Disaster food stamps extended in Orleans, Jefferson

BATON ROUGE -- The disaster food stamp program for Orleans and Jefferson parishes has been extended for two more days, according to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services  The last day to apply for DSNAP is now Sept. 15.

The applications in Orleans Parish will still take place at the UNO Lakefront Arena and at the Alario Center on the West Bank and at the Grand Isle Mutiplex in Jefferson Parish.

The applications will be received alphabetically. At all three locations, the schedule is Friday, Sept. 14 - A through M, and Sat., Sept.15 - N through Z.

UNO and the Alario Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the Grand Isle Mutiplex will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
