NEW ORLEANS - Power has been restored to nearly all of the 10,000 or so Entergy New Orleans customers who lost service for about two hours Saturday morning, according to the company's website.
At the height of the outage, more than 10,000 customers in the Uptown, Broadmoor and Central City areas were without power, according to the utility company.
As of 8 a.m., just under 75 customers appeared to still be without service. That number dropped to just 8 customers about an hour later.
"Most customers affected by this morning's outage should now have power restored. We'll keep working until everyone's lights are back on," the company tweeted just before 8:30 a.m.
The outage appeared to have started sometime before 6 a.m. As of 7:30 a.m., the company said the cause had been determined and that crews were working to fix the problem.
The area affected included parts of Uptown, Broadmoor and Central City: the 70115, 70118 and 70113 ZIP codes.
