Officials are searching for a man dressed as a woman who robbed a Gentilly bank, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.

The FBI and NOPD said the man held up Liberty Bank & Trust Co., at 3002 Gentilly Blvd. at about 11:55 Friday morning. He walked to a teller and handed over a note saying he was carrying a weapon.

Authorities said the black man was wearing a long black curly wig and sunglasses and was carrying a tan purse. He was wearing a “wide-striped gold and white long-sleeve sweater” along with dark tights and white tennis shoes.

He was described as a 5-foot-9 man with a slim build.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 504-816-3000. The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the man.
