NEW ORLEANS - On Wednesday, Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez was in New Orleans to get an update on phase two of the Causeway Boulevard Interchange Project.

Mendez met with state transportation officials and also delivered remarks on the importance of investing in infrastructure and how it can help build a strong economy.

DOTD officials said ramp to I-10, which will allow Causeway commuters to head to New Orleans will be open in two to three weeks.

Work on the Causeway Improvement Project began in November 2009 and is expected to be complete sometime this summer.
