NEW ORLEANS - The Huey P. Long Bridge closed Saturday and Sunday, forcing drivers to find another way across the river.
Crews are removing old lanes on the bridge.
Transportation officials said it isn't expected to open again until midnight on Monday.
The Crescent City Connection or the I-310 bridge in Luling can be used as alternate routes.
