NEW ORLEANS - A new audit said the state's biggest department is missing over $1 million in equipment - equipment paid for by taxpayers.
The report found that when the Office of Public Health in New Orleans moved to its new location in Benson Towers, nearly $1.3 million in equipment was unaccounted for, according to the report by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Office.
Most of the items were computers and related technical equipment.
The DHHh said they are working with the legislative auditor to fix the problem..
