NEW ORLEANS - The Housing Authority of New Orleans is holding a special meeting Thursday to discuss proposed changes to the Iberville Housing Development.
It was announced in 2011 that the housing development and parts of the Treme neighborhood would get a multimillion dollar facelift, thanks to a new federal grant program.
The money is being used to turn the neighborhood near the French Quarter into a mixed income community, with more than 2,400 units.
Plans also call for the site to include new retail stores, clinics and schools.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Craig Elementary School gym on St. Philip Street.
