NEW ORLEANS – A two alarm fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a gutted home in Hollygrove, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.
The first alarm was sounded at 3:51 a.m. and firefighters arrived at the corner of Earhart Boulevard and Hollygrove Street at 3:55 a.m.
They found a single-family, single-story residence at 8915 Earhart Blvd. fully involved with flames coming through the roof, NOFD said.
A second alarm was sounded at 4:02 a.m.
By 4:34 a.m., 13 units carrying 43 NOFD personnel brought the fire under control.
One firefighter fell and injured his back but decided to remain on duty, the NOFD said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
