Mar. 10: 500 S. Solomon Street
NEW ORLEANS – One passenger was killed and another passenger was injured when a gunman opened fire on the vehicle they were traveling in on Sunday in Mid-City, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Shortly after 6 p.m., a 48-year-old woman and 31-year-old man were being driven in the 500 block of South Solomon Street, police said.
A gunman shot at the car and struck the woman in the chest and the man in the wrist.
The driver of the vehicle, who was uninjured, drove the woman and man to the hospital, police said.
The woman later died and the man was listed in stable condition, according to the NOPD.
Investigators are in the process of gathering evidence to identify suspect(s) and a motive.
