New Orleans man shot, killed Uptown, police say

NEW ORLEANS -- A 47-year-old man has died following a shooting Monday night in Uptown New Orleans, police say. 

Second District officers of the NOPD were called to the corner of Lyons and Constance streets around 8:40 p.m. Monday night after receiving reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, the 47-year-old was found near the intersection and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

The man was taken to the hospital where he later died. 

This investigation is on-going. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Officer will release the name of the victim and the official cause of death. No further information is available at this time.
